Still, I have a lot of favorite quotes from this book. His ideas of joy, solidity, and brightness all were intriguing.

Some parts were sort of confusing,but overall it was pretty good. In chapter 11 we also observe a scenario in which we see how natural love can be warped by our humanity and turned into something quite ugly.

No soul that seriously and constantly desires joy will ever miss it. It seems like just about every contemporary, evangelical Christian book I read these days has at least one quote from Lewis. That’s being plain manipulative.

Lewis, I tip my hat to you for choosing such a worthy usher through paradise. A great book to sit and pray with, meant to be divvorcio slowly.

His God-centered emphasis on heaven was spot on. And his picturing of humanity glorified was beautiful. Than they go into discussions of what is good, what is evil, who deserved to be saved and how if a person is famous on Earth than they are nobody in heaven, or at least they are just like those around them, no better and no worse.

Are there bible scriptures listed in this book? I’m not sure what I was expecting The Great Divorce to be like, but it wasn’t what I had in mind going into it.
